ILCA/Laser - Leeward Mark Rounding Animation + Breakdown

!! IMPORTED FROM https://vimeo.com/1103714940 !! A lot of the stuff shown here took some trial and error , especially experimenting with new techniques to animate the splashes. I ended up using a remeshed particle simulation as a base to draw the splashes with Grease Pencil. I spent quite a bit of time figuring out how to render the water but then i came across the Physical Open Water addon (from the short film "Flow"), which helped a lot in extending the ocean while keeping things relatively fast. I shrinkwrapped it to the base ocean animation I had already done with the Ocean modifier, to animate the boat in Maya. I kept this video short, so if you’re curious about any part of the process, feel free to ask! Tools used: Maya: rigging, animation Blender (EEVEE) : modeling, shading, lighting, texturing, rendering -Add-ons: Molecular+ for particles, Physical Open Water: https://lnkd.in/dZzkzR9v After Effects: compositing Big thanks again to Ramon Arango for the character rig, and special thanks to Antcgi for the ribbon rig tutorials on yt! Music: MitiS - Life Of Sin (Pt.4) Thanks for watching! #breakdown #blender #3danimation #stylized #Maya #rigging #lighting #Flow
